If your routine activities require that you occasionally walk over rough terrain, like rough stones or other unpaved surfaces. the Pro is the better choice.
Yaktrax Pro Medium-Duty Ice Grips best for some professionals who work outside during the winter and participate in strenuous winter
sports. I also recommend Yaktrax Pro for people who take longer, daily walks or hike regularly.
If you are constantly walking on rough terrain consider industrial strength ice cleats.
Elastomer straps, stainless steel wire. They retain their shape and stay flexible at extremely low temperatures so Yaktrax are always easy to put on and take off. The difference in both the thickness of the straps and coils is less dramatic because of improvements made in 2008.
Real rubber compound is tougher and thicker than the elastomer straps used on the Yaktrax Walk. The stainless steel wire is thicker and will last longer in harsher conditions. A new, even tougher material has been introduced for 2011 making thePro20% more durable.
Both use the same proven, innovative SKIDLOCK system that gives you hundreds of biting edges in all directions. The quality of traction is the same for both models. The Yaktrax Pro will just last longer especially under tougher conditions.
There are no special skills to learn and stretch over your regular shoes in seconds. I think the Yaktrax Walk is usually the best choice for elderly people because with the thinner straps it is a little easier to put on. But really, it's not a big deal and many elderly customers buy the Yaktrax Pro and love them.
Like the Yaktrax Walk there are no special skills to learn so you can just walk or even run on packed snow and ice the same way you do on dry payment.
The Pro has Velcro strap (see below) which is another step when you put them on. But if you don't need it you can remove it.
Most people have very little trouble with Yaktrax coming off their shoes. But in rare instances, most often when the size might not have been the best choice, Yaktrax may come off in deep snow. Most people never have a problem and you shouldn't consider it a problem.
The Yaktrax Walk will fit over almost all your shoes and boots.
Yaktrax Pro has a Velcro Performance Strap that goes across the top of your shoe and helps keep your Yaktrax in place and on your footwear in deep snow. It's only important if you're "pushing off" very hard while working outside or playing sports.
The strap might also be helpful if your routine activities require that you do have to walk through a lot of deep snow since the strap will definitely help to keep your Yaktrax in place. Please remember that you can always remove the strap.
Like the Walk, the Yaktrax Pro will fit over most footwear.
Yaktrax Walk is available in Black only. Glow (yes, it actually glows in the dark!) and Clear are discontinued for 2019. I still have limited sizes in stock.

You absolutely must remove Yaktrax before going indoors where there are smooth, dry floors like those found in the
